Krinsky & Sons founder, Lazarus Krinsky, started his career working as a blacksmith, later leaving to pursue work in a Chicago scrap yard where he soon became a foreman. Familiar with the workings of scrap metal and its collection, he later ventured off and started his own company.

In 1889 L. Krinsky & Sons was founded. The company collected blacksmiths' left-over iron by horse-and-carriage as well as serviced small factories. The business continued to develop over the years. In 1928, L. Krinsky & Sons' first truck was added, which enabled the company to service different types of customers throughout the Chicagoland area.

The 5th generation, family-owned business continues to meet the growing scrap metal needs of companies of all sizes throughout the greater Chicagoland area. Today, Marcia Krinsky is the owner and CFO of L. Krinsky & Sons, Inc.
